Summary of Position

The Loading Shovel Operator will be responsible for operating the Company’s loading shovels and other mobile plant, loading cargo into the Company’s stores and loading out to customer’s vehicle. The Loading Shovel Operator will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the loading shovels, other plant, stores, yards and ancillary areas. The Loading Shovel Operator will keep necessary records and carry out other bulk store related tasks.

Responsibilities / Principal Duties

·         To operate the Company’s loading shovels and other mobile plant to load and unload bulk cargo to/from the Company’s stores

·         To operate the Company’s loading shovels and other mobile plant to clean and prepare stores between shipments and for other purposes as required by the needs of the company.

·         To clean and maintain the Company’s loading shovels and other mobile plant

·         To clean, maintain and assist with the general housekeeping of stores, yards and ancillary areas

·        To keep and maintain all necessary records and to carry out other related duties in relation to the Company’s quality control, feed hygiene, health and safety and other compliance programmes including but not limited to product temperature checks.

·         To operate the Company’s weighbridge software to relieve weighbridge operators or as directed.

·         Any other duties the management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require requirements, and relevant shipside operations, is an advantage.

• Full, clean Category B driving licence or an equivalent driving license from another country which is valid in Ireland.

• Fluent in English

Qualifications and Skills:

To succeed in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

1. Experienced operator of large loading shovels and machinery, including loading trailers with high-tip buckets.

2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

3. Knowledge of animal feeds, correct handling methods, measures to preserve quality in storage, and potential quality issues.

Hours of Work - 07.00 - 17.00hrs Monday - Friday.
