To manage the flow of containers in the Inland Depot, assess each container and recommend the course of action needed to make it worthy for trade. This is a busy role, with up to 300 transactions coming through the gates each day with this position being the first point of contact with each one.


Ideally, the successful candidate will have previous warehousing or cargo handling experience but this is not a requirement. Also, HGV or large plant equipment experience, a HGV licence, and or forklift licence would be an advantage but not required as training will be provided.

 

Responsibilities / Principal Duties

·         Assessing each container that comes into the depot for damage, condition and any other relevant markers

·         Processing and managing container movements within the terminal

·         Controlling access and egress to the Terminal

·         Liaising with machine operators regarding container movements

·         Liaising with the Operations Department regarding the management of traffic on terminal

·         Monitoring and reporting of container damage

·         Communicating with truck drivers on the condition of each container

·         Deliver the highest standard of customer care to all truck drivers

·         Assist with the general housekeeping/cleaning of Terminal Gate entrance and exit area

·         Any other duties the management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require, including upskilling to cover other positions in the depot as required

Location

The primary place of work for this position will be at our depot in the Dublin Inland Port, St Margaret’s, Co Dublin. The Estimator/General Operative may be required to work at other locations, including in Dublin Port, from time to time as the Company may deem necessary and reasonably require.

 

Working Hours

Working hours will be 0600-1800 hrs Monday to Friday over a 4-day cycle. 12-hour shifts.  (Subject to change. To be confirmed nearer the start date)
